A virtual playground where kids learn the basics of visual art

In times of selfies and overwhelming images, Art Stories FACES takes children to a virtual gallery, where they discover 30 paintings, exhibited in famous collections such as the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Children play with ancient and modern paintings, getting to learn the basics of visual art.

Different activities, each connected to a portrait, challenge children: they need to be recompose some of the paintings, to select the correct items, to analyze patterns and brushstrokes, to discover even the smallest details.

A final quiz helps disclosing a timeline with all portraits and their peculiarities.

Art Stories FACES is developed with the support of Europeana Labs, and illustrations are by Cinzia Franceschini.
